Host Appreciation Month
February
Show your appreciation to your host family by doing something nice. Some ideas are to prepare them breakfast, make them a personalized card, help with some extra chores, or tell YES@pieusa.org just how awesome your host is!
Referral Month
March
For each host you refer to P.I.E. that selects a 2009-10 student (arriving in t 2009), you receive a $75 referral bonus. Ask your Regional Manager about details.
Global Youth Service Day
April 24-26, 2009
Be one of the millions of youth to participate in the largest service event in the world! This month, focus your Community Service on tutoring young children, engage in disaster relief, register new voters, or educate your community about good nutrition.
Pre-Departure Orientations
April & May
The time to leave the USA will be approaching, get all the details on what you need to do and begin to say goodbye. Regional Managers coordinate this event, so be on the look-out for notifications.
Return Travel Plans

Students will receive notification of travel.
Last Chance to Select a New YES Student
June 15
Give someone else the opportunity to study in the USA too! The 2009-10 group is waiting to hear from caring hosts. As an experienced YES student, you can provide guidance and friendship to the ‘new’ one, via your host family and the internet.

International Education Week

FLEX students give presentations on their Home Country to various groups or organizations as part of IEW week.
